Committees

As a participant of the Greeley Children’s Chorale, at least one member from each family is required to participate on an assigned committee. These committees help us keep our costs lower by not contracting this work out. Thank you so much for investing in your child’s activities and the Greeley Children’s Chorale. Following are brief descriptions of each committee.

Ambassador Program

Members will assist in kicking off this new program, which includes both an adult component and an alumni student component. Duties include recruiting adults and alumni students to take part, sending letters to advertise the program, and coordinating schedules and duties of volunteers.

Attendance

Members will assist in taking attendance at weekly rehearsals, which includes setup and take-down, phone calls to parents for non-attendees, assisting with medical situations, reporting absentees to directors, and staying until all children have been picked up at the end of rehearsal.

Awards/Refreshments/Tickets

Members will assist with the end of the season awards ceremony. This includes recognizing graduating singers at Spring Sing and all singers at the determined rehearsal. Members will prepare, serve and clean up snacks at social night rehearsals, and contact other parents to have them bring in a snack when needed. Members will be available to sell and collect tickets for the rehearsals prior to and for the three major concerts in the season.

Group Fundraiser/Personal Fundraisers

Members will assist in group and PFA fundraisers. There is at least one annual, mandatory group fundraiser. There may be additional group fundraisers throughout the season. PFA fundraising efforts are intensified during tour years. Plan for about one fundraiser a month in a tour year. In non-tour years, there will typically be 2–3 PFA fundraisers over the course of the season. Members will assist chair in planning/implementing fundraisers as needed (the need is typically most intense on nights when fundraiser order forms are due, and delivery nights). You may be asked to tally orders, count money or sort product.

Camp Personnel

Members will assist with various duties at camp in late July/early August. Duties include registration, snack servers, attendance, and supervision. Will require a meeting in the summer prior to camp to help organize the event.

Concert Rehearsal Parents/Ushers

Members will serve as helpers and supervisors during pop-up concerts, dress rehearsals and major concerts. Duties include assisting with medical emergencies, supervising children who are not performing and remaining after the event until all children have been picked up.

Formal Concert Attire

Members will help with measuring singers for attire, checking out attire, being present at all concerts to help with extra items, and checking in and taking inventory of the attire at the end of the season.

Grants/Music Library

Members will assist in stamping new music, filing music, collecting music, updating music library notebooks and following up with parents if music is not returned. They may also be asked to help assemble grant applications.

Public Relations/Silent Auction

Members will hang posters throughout Greeley, Windsor, Kersey and surrounding communities in the fall and spring. They will also pass out bookmarks with dates for our pop-up concerts. Members will gather items for the silent auction in February, along with setup before the event and tear-down after the event.

Scrip

Members will sign up for nights to sell scrip, learn scrip sales procedures, proper documentation, and preparation of deposits. They will also notify chair when stock of scrip cards runs low so more cards can be ordered.
